Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018
Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! Let's be honest, 2017 has been absolutely terrible year and I honestly cannot wait for the new year. It really felt like the year has gone by incredibly slow for me. I've basically been trudging through month after month. Now that it's finally the last day of the year, I'm just like 'F- this. Here's to the new year! Let's do this! Things can't get any worse than this.'
If I had to describe the year of 2017, I would describe it as me being a failure. I failed a blogging, writing in general, failed a good couple of my classes during the autumn semester (which was not great.. made me pretty depressed this month). The year has been both physically and mentally exhausting/painful for me. I won't go into to much detail about that, maybe I'll talk about it in my diary blog. I'll have a new year's reflection of myself personally published either later today or tomorrow. But the main point is, I may be a failure but I will not stop blogging. /whacked;
Usually, this is the part where I share my page views or something to show my gratitude towards everyone who has visited my blog either only once simply for the large amount of gifs I used to post or for others who are devoted follows.
Okay, so it's more of a couple thousand increase. But you know what? THANK YOU. I expected to never get any views (because I barely post anymore). However, the fact that some people still visited my blog at some point in their entire Internet history- thank you. I appreciate all of you, every single one of you. Whether you're reading this right now or some other time, just thank you. I can't say I'll be more active, but the it's giving me a bit more motivation to do more blogging for the new year. I love you guys, you're the best. Thanks you sticking by this awkward bean. /virtual hug;
So what else should I say about the new year? Oh right, Genki Pika Pika! ☆ turned five years-old this year! Mind. Blown. My blog is completely out of the toddler stage now. I've been in this blogging thing for five years now and it's really great~ I'm not the best blogger out there (maybe I'm one of the worse /shrugs; ). However, being able to have this blog was really fun. It helped me with my writing, I'm able to share my thoughts on something I love so much, I get to know other blogs. Here's to five more years of blogging! Whoo!
J-pop as a whole this year isn't technically good nor bad. It's a very good in-between. Granted, there's been some pretty boring songs. However, there were a lot of songs that I really really loved this year. For the longest time, I've been kinda stuck in this Johnny's-Hello! Project sort of bubble and rarely ever reaching out to other artists (let alone, outside of the Jpop-bubblegum pop genre as a whole) aside from certain ones like AAA or Da-iCE and occassionally the 48/46 family. However, I really wanted to go outside of that whole idol bubble and listen to other artists. This year I listened to a lot of Yonezu Kenshi, Suda Masaki, Namie Amuro (the queen), and others.
I'm still within that idol bubble, but I made progress and I feel proud of myself.
So now comes the part where I talk about last year's wishes and the like!
Please note that I essentially copied and paste from last year's entry.
Wishes;
- For the B-Sides in H!P music to COME BACK. (still waiting for it)
- For Kudou Haruka to become center in Morning Musume (I'm biased, I love her).
- For Morning Musume to actually release an album! It's been awhile...
- For ºC-ute to release another album (not their final best album) before disbanding!
- For Sexy Zone to release some GOOD music as 5 members only.
- For Matsushima Sou to star in a drama.
PLEAAAAAAAAAASE. I BEG YOU. GIVE HIM A DRAMA.
- Less graduations and less auditions for Hello! Project this year
- More good Japanese dramas! I need to watch mooooooore.
- For Houkago Princess to release a full-length album! I really want it!
- Just for a lot of really good J-pop music to be released~
B-sides in Hello! Project still aren't back. There were a few singles that had B-sides like Morning Musume, but there were songs that were already released? It felt more like a triple A-side single in a sense. I think it's time to finally admit that they're never going to come back in Hello! Project. Those are the days of old. By anyways, Morning Musume did finally release a new album after like y e a r s and right before Duu graduated from the group-
Oh yeah, that also happened. She graduated. I'm so sad and I'm more pissed off at myself for never finishing appreciation week. I will finish it in the next year, I will! She was my ultimate bias in Hello! Project as a whole and I'm doing this for her. Speaking of graduations, damn- Hello! Project has had a pretty shxtty year with so many departures especially in Kobushi. I pray that those girls are able to pull through and become the next ºC-ute.
Some other wishes didn't really come true like ˚C-ute releasing a tenth album before their final best album prior to disbanding or Sou starring in a drama (it didn't have to be a drama where he's the main. Even one of those school dramas could work!). Yet, my son did get another solo song and it's in my top 20~ Ayy~ Houkago Princess did released their debut album this year and there was a lot of good music that was released. Hell, I even watched a lot more Japanese dramas this year like Doctor X 5, Peach Girl 2017 live-action, Gintama (which was pretty damn good), Chihayafuru! And I also watched a lot of Kamen Rider Exaid. I will never be able to have fun with Kamen Rider like that ever again. /cries;
Now, I'm just gonna list my wishes for 2018~ Please come true.
(੭•̀ω•́)੭̸*✩⁺˚ Suda Masaki to release more music! He has potential!
(੭•̀ω•́)੭̸*✩⁺˚ Houkago Princess to release a Rapunzel/Sleeping Beauty theme single!

(੭•̀ω•́)੭̸*✩⁺˚ Matsushima Sou to star in the drama, no matter what role (please)
(੭•̀ω•́)੭̸*✩⁺˚ Kudo Haruka to star in a good amount of works! Or be in Lupinranger???
Those are my wishes for the year of 2018. But what about my own goals??

I think this will be enough for the year of 2018. I can't wait for the new year to start, I know for sure we are all done with 2017 as a whole. Let's just hope the upcoming year won't be too bad. That's all for this post. Happy New Year! Until my next post, jyaa ne~
